"Untangling the Floats", was the 10th print issued in 1998 by Rie Munoz
Alaskans
in the commercial set-net salmon fisheries do a lot more than fish. Besides spending
the better part of the day, and frequently the night, on the fishing grounds picking
salmon out of their nets, they also periodically have to shake the long net free of
seaweed ,or mend their nets,or hand their nets with new floats or sinkers.
They snatch a few hours sleep when they can.
And, oh yes, my friend shown in this image, also prepares three
meals a day for the family and makes an differ to keep their one-room fishing cabin in
some semblance of order. Do they enjoy this busy and exhaustion summer life
