"Picking Fish" There are many ways of harvesting salmon in the commercial fisheries in Alaska, most of which require a great deal of muscle power. In Picking Fish, the long and heavy net is pulled over the bow of the skiff - the salmon are "picked" out and the net drops back into the water for more fish.
On good days, when the end of the net has been reached, the skiff is raced back to the other end and "picking fish" starts all over again". Rie Muņoz
