"Memorial at Sea" Many Years ago a couple of friends went hunting in a skiff out of Hoonah. when they failed to return at the appointed time the Coast Guard was called. All they found was the skiff and a few belongings on the shore across from Icy Straits.
While traveling the Alaska Maine Highway a few months later the captain announced that he was taking time to stop the ship so the family could have a memorial at sea. After the ceremony the ship continued its voyage.. by Rie Munoz
